Pilot

A more extensive rollout within a locality designed to link Primary, Community and Secondary care. The Pilot will allow you to evaluate the potential savings and benefits that the full WCL service can generate.

The Pilot phase would involve a larger number of individuals from across the PCT. Including all that play a part in the wound care service; i.e. GP's/practice nurses; community nurses; tissue viability, acute trust specialists; medicines management; information technology; clinical governance; commissioners, etc. This phase builds on the Preview phase by piloting a locality wide integrated wound care management service. This will include the necessary service improvement training for all stakeholders (min clinical, operational, commissioning).

The purpose of the Pilot phase is to establish the baseline data, management processes and the necessary technology to support the Programme phase. The pilot would take 12 months (4 cycles of three months) and will include the necessary service improvement training for key stakeholders; clinical, operational and commissioning.
